Before you decide

  1. Look at the annual salary: in Switzerland, salaries are often paid over 13 months. Always compare over the year.
  2. Work out your travel costs with our car cost calculator: they can change the result.
  3. Think about the exchange rate: a fall in the franc reduces what you have left in euros.
  4. Compare everything else too: holidays, pension, travel time, job security.

Frequently asked questions

Why is health insurance only added for Switzerland?

In France, health insurance is paid through contributions taken from your salary. A cross-border worker in Switzerland must pay for it separately: either the CMU in France or a Swiss insurance.

Is the calculation valid for the canton of Vaud?

No. In the canton of Vaud, cross-border workers pay their taxes in France. This calculator uses Geneva withholding tax.
